Exhibition 'L'Autre Ensor'

In the exhibition, L'autre Ensor (until 23 March), 52 lesser-known drawings of James Ensor are exhibited in the Grand Curtius museum in Liège. Nearly all of the drawings date back to the first five years of Ensor's career. They were bought from Ensor by the Brussels' art collector Henri Van Cutsem, probably during the course of the 1890's. Van Cutsem possessed paintings by Manet, Monet, Seurat and Ensor, among others. He gifted the majority of his collection to the city of Tournai. The collection of drawings from the Museum of Fine Arts of Tournai is supplemented with works from the collection of the museums in Liège.
